Overall Objectives:


1. Identify the areas where ancient Egypt emerged and the influence of the River Nile on its development. (p.160/161)
2. Distinguish the historical periods of ancient Egypt. (p.160)
3. List the social groups of Egyptian society and explain their differences and position within the social hierarchy. (p.162, 163)
4. Identify the form of government of ancient Egypt and the civil servant who made up the administration (p.162)
5. Describe the main economical activities in ancient Egypt (p. 164)
6. Explain the characteristics of Egyptian religion and its influence on the social structure. (p. 166)
  7. Comment on the concept of immortality in Egyptian religion and its representation in art. 
  (p. 166)

Peasant: 
Definition: poor, cultivation, agriculture, the land belonged to the pharaohs, children worked, during floods they were forced to help buliding the pyramids
Pharaoh:
passed laws, governed the country, land owner, led armies, controlled trade

Situation 1:
You are a peasant and don't want to work building pyramids. Your contract is growing crops.

You are the Pharaoh and because of the Nile flood you want your peasants to help building the great pyramid
